Greg's 2000 S4 - For Sale!!

This little rocket replaced the 1991 200q (which I still miss...)

This is one FINE little car. It's a lot smaller than the 200 (the back seat is not really usable for two adults for very long) but it SCOOTS. TONS of torque and a 6-speed transmission which it doesn't really need. I smile whenever I drive this car. It's pretty much a stock 2000 S4 except for some convenience items listed below. And you now what? This car doesn't need to be modified. It's "Done Right" from the factory. Sure a lot of guys want more (can you ever have "enough" horsepower?) but I like it the way it is. Highly recommended, two thumbs up.

Car is for sale as described below; I am the original owner having obtained it on lease in May of 2000, then I purchased it off-lease in the summer of 2003.

Factory Delivered Specs:

• Nogaro Blue

• Factory rear decklid spoiler, painted to match
• Height-adjustable Bilstein Sport Shocks, slotted for height adjustability with an "adult" lowering on them (lower is available). Very streetable.
• Neuspeed 22m rear adjustable swaybar (set full stiff. Can't get this 22mm one any more; they said it was "too aggressive" for most drivers)
• Dunlop Winter Sport M2 tires on factory wheels
• K&N air filter
• UUC Motorwerks short shift kit (currently set at 40%)
• RS4 suede shift knob (still have the stock one available)
• Blitzsafe adapter for DVD/MP3 Player to interface with factory stereo system
• Stratmosphere S4 Logo floor mats (before they had to stop using the S4 logo)
• Weather Tech winter floor mats
• Motorola E815 cellphone car kit integrated with radio system

Current Condition:

• Adult non-smoker, owned and driven.
• No damage history at all.
• Exterior is super. Minor road chips on leading edge of hood, extremely minor.
• Interior is also great shape. No damage and in very good shape.

Repairs/Maintenance to date (as of 02/08, ~108K miles):

• Meticulous maintenance. Oil and filter changes, etc, usually at half the standard rate (Mobil 1 synthetic every 3-4k miles)
• New timing belt, tensioners, water pump, and other belts at 75k miles
• Maintenance good through 100k mile service, including spark plugs, plus oil/filter changes at 104k and 108k.
• Replaced two power steering hoses first year I owned it. One split each time I drove at an Audi Club driver education event. Never took it on the track after that.
• New battery at ~80k.
• New rear wheel bearings ~80k miles.
• BOVs replaced July 2006.
• PCV "octopus" replaced ~102k miles.
• New! Brand new rear brakes, 01/10/08
• New! ModuleMaster-rebuilt ABS controller, 01/10/08
• New driver's seat guides, 02/08

Current Opportunities:

• Airbag light on dash in on. Never investigated it (I'm not a big fan of airbags, anyway...)

Sale Options:

• Bilsteins included with sale (too much labor to R&R).
• BBS RC wheels with 225/45-17 tires with brandy-new (as in, never been on the ground) Bridgestene RE050A tires).
• With or without Neuspeed rear bar (versus factory bar).

Why Sell?

As much as I've enjoyed and love this car, I just use it for commuting; I've got an Excursion diesel for family trips and for towing, and a Nissan NX2000 that will get used for commuting once it's in good shape.. So, it's time to start reducing the size of the fleet...the wife has an A4 Avant and I rarely use the rear seats anyway.

Price

It pains me to see what the current retail value of this car is. The original selling price was $39,500; I guess Audis drop in value like a brick through water. It also pains me to sell it right when the used-car market is finally stabilizing...oh, well.

Current online price guides show this car - in excellent condition - with a retail value of about $12,950, so that's the asking price. but here's the kicker: pay the asking price (no dicker sticker) and I'll throw in the BBS RC wheels (with - literally - brand new) Bridgestones and the "unobtainable" Neuspeed rear bar at no additional charge.

If, however, you're looking to pay less then we can negotiate the value by my keeping the wheels and tires and/or uninstalling the Neuspeed bar and reinstalling the stock one. Whatever works best for you.
